Open House Tour: Manoa/Makiki

January 26, 2015 By Nick Kawakami

Sunday open houses are always fun because it’s not just agents running around the neighborhoods. It’s always encouraging to see shoppers out there, because that means our business is doing well! Thanks to all the agents who hosted open houses yesterday. Here’s some of the great ones that I saw…

2130 Mauna Pl.
Situated in upper Makiki, this three bedroom, two bath house sits almost on the end of Mauna Place. The views overlooking downtown and lower Makiki are awesome and has great fruit trees on the property. Listed for $1,168,000, the listor is actually my classmate from Punahou! Small island, eh?!

This unit is a part of the Punahou Terrace low-rise complex, right above Wilder Avenue. The unit is recently remodeled and really well done with a very functional and open kitchen. It also has a big, open lanai, courtyard views, and faces the valley for good breeze through. One bedroom, one bath, listed at $299,000.

I had to make a quick stop back in Manoa, so we checked out a couple of place in there as well. First was a beautiful house among the trees on Paty Dr. Paty Drive itself winds up the valley wall, so this house sits among the forest and really blends well into the habitat. I especially liked the tree house, haha! Four bedroom, two bathroom, listed at $1.298 Million by Shannon K. Smith of Locations LLC.

2930 Kahawai St.
Back down in the valley, on Kahawai St., we stopped by a unique property close to the park. It has three bedrooms and one bathroom on the main living floor, and then a separate one bedroom, one bathroom apartment upstairs. The backyard is finished and well maintained, as well as private. Listed at $1.25 Million.

2127 Metcalf St.
Heading out of the valley, we hit a three bedroom, two bathroom house located a few blocks from UH. When I walked up to the property, I had no idea that it was actually hillside and featured a terraced yard with great views! The downstairs area has a separate one bedroom, one bathroom unit with it’s own entrance, and the carport can handle up to six cars. Listed at $985,000.

Three days a week, I visit open houses around O’ahu. This summary is a list of the open houses I visited, however they may not be available when you read this post. I am also restricted from posting about all the listings I visited, so contact me directly for a complete list. All listings are property of the owner, information is not guaranteed, and you should always consult your favorite real estate agent (hopefully me!) for the most up to date information. Last disclaimer is that I took all these photos, and any opinions expressed are my own.
